Scaling the Brand Design craft, teams, and systems at Grammarly

I lead a team of brand designers, illustrators, motion designers, producers, and design operators at Grammarly.

From integrated brand campaigns to in-product brand design, the Brand Design team at Grammarly is a close creative partner to leaders across the company in crafting distinct, delightful, and on-brand experiences across every touchpoint.

To implement consistent visual language at scale, my team builds brand design repositories and promotional toolkits tailor-made for product offerings and audiences

Creative Direction, Design Leadership

Evolving the brand and building the first brand design systems at Reddit

In 2015, Reddit had not seen any significant design updates for more than a decade. With a rapidly growing brand awareness and significant product updates on the way, it was time to evolve the brand and tell a memorable, cohesive story.

Together with a lean team of two product designers, I build the first brand design systems. We would go on to use this visual language for the launch of the first Reddit app, and Reddit's first major brand campaigns.

Hi! I’m a Creative Director and Design Leader living in Oakland, CA. I’m currently building the Brand Design team at Grammarly and helping evolve their visual identity. I’ve previously built the first brand design systems at Reddit, along with libraries, brand design principles, and creative directed their first major integrated campaigns.

I believe in leading with kindness, and building with intention.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve worked with brands like Capgemini, Olympus, Winnie Labs, Uber, and currently am an advisor to portfolio companies at Sequoia India and Blume Ventures on early-stage design hiring and design systems. My editorial work appears on Wired Magazine, TechCrunch, Backchannel, and Crunchbase News.

Paying it forward with design and illustration

Over the years, I've worked with community leaders in San Francisco and Oakland as a creative partner and designer. It's something I find deeply rewarding.

Some highlights include out-of-home advertising design for Oakland Pride, editorial design and illustration for 826 Valencia, and painting a San Francisco Heart, for the benefit of heart research at the San Francisco General Hospital.
